Zimbabwe "a cappella" group on stage in Italy

insingizi-magliano

Insingizi, a Zimbabwean “a cappella” group, brought the little city of Magliano alive with their gumboots dance and their marvellous harmonies. They sing without instrumental accompaniment.

The group is comprised of Dumisani Ramadu Moyo, Vusimuzi Vusa Ndlovu and Blessing Nqo Nkomo based in Austria .

The trio took part in Vox Mundi Festival which has been running since July and it will end on 19 August with Portuguese music represented by Bevinda.

The show was done in almost two and half hours but the crowd still wanted more music from the trio. Despite having their own recorded music they also performed copyrights from Black Umfolosi and Black Smith Mambazo whom they gave credit of the songs.

They captivated the audiences with songs like Homeless, The lion sleeps tonight, Amasango, Isiqoqodo and many others.

Vusa stole the limelight with antics on the stage. It was a lot of funny as the crowd took part in the singing of the songs. Some of the songs they were taught how to pronounce words and sing them. The crowd was mesmerized by the click sound from the Ndebele language which they could not comprehend perfectly. They got a standing ovation of their outstanding performance.

It was not only about having funny as the group dedicated a song on the on going war in Georgia, problems in Sudan, Zimbabwe, Iraq and many other countries.

For the people who attended the show they will always remember the performances from the trio. This internationally acclaimed group has performed in Austria, Canada, Poland, Zimbabwe and many other European countries.
