Fashion is our culture” African designer, Alphadi, said.

On 17 October in London, Camer Couture will hold its fashion show. Well this wouldn’t be much of a news but this is not an Italian, French or British fashion catwalk. This is a Cameroonian fashion show.

As Ngum Ngafor, the founder of the fashion firm Facebook group, said to Africanews.it: “We’re concentrated on quality“.

Guests will be attended Saturday 17 of October, from 6pm – 3am, at Shoreditch Studios, 29B New Inn Yard, Shoreditch, London EC2A 2EY.

Cameroonian culture goes couture this Black History Month as the African nation’s most fabulous fashion designers take over London for the first time ever.

Courtesy of funky new style hub, Camer Couture, Afro-eccentric star, Anggy Haif and celebrity couturiere, Olivia Ervi will join forces with exciting newcomers, KiRette Couture, Bot I Lam, RoViSa Design and Ms Mi to weave a night of eye-popping art, elegance and panache at the über chic Shoreditch Studios.

“The Camer Couture fashion showcase will be a kaleidoscopic interpretation of Cameroon’s rich history and dynamic culture,” said CEO, Cynthia Anduhtabe.

News of the exquisite encounter between the country dubbed Africa in minature and the West has set media and entertainment circles twirling.

With celebrity stylist, Arieta Mujay, buyers, diplomats and entrepreneurs on its sparkling guest list, the event promises to be a superb blend of clout, chic and class.

Prominent media, including the BBC, VoxAfrica TV and highly regarded pan-African magazines, ARISE and New African Woman will be covering the occasion.

“The recent press and catwalk rage about African fashion presents extraordinary prospects for our extremely talented and versatile designers.

We are very excited about giving them the opportunity to access a market which is largely unaware of their talent and stylistic originality,” explained Anduhtable.

The spectacle will also feature live performances from artists: Muntu Valdo, Serge Tebu as well as Dee, Quest & Band.

In addition, there will be a raffle sale to benefit the Baka Pygmies who make up one of Cameroon’s oldest and most deprived communities.

A fantastic fusion of makossa, soukous, couper-decaler, Nigerian beats, R &B, hip-hop and more music from around the world will keep fashion fops bopping the after party away.

“It will be a soirée of chic, couture and stylish edutainment blended with acoustic bliss and a distinct global sound track,” assured art director, Alex Quest.
