Africans are looking for a job in Riace (Italy)

Mast May 1st we interviewed two African citizens, an Ethiopian and a Somali citizen, in Riace, near Reggio Calabria (south Italy).

They were there, beside other Italians, showing solidarity to the mayor of Riace, Domenico Lucano, who supposedly was targeted twice by the local criminal organization called ‘Ndrangheta.

Some believe thatt he two criminal acts means that the mayor must not be reelected because with his experience of hosting foreigners asking for asylum in Italy he demonstrated to the whole of Italy and to the whole of Europe that immigration issues can be managed in other ways.

In the video here below, Ethiopian Mahmoud says that even though all documents are made he cannot find a job.
