Monday December 12

  • • Vote-counting begins from Sunday’s Ivorian parliamentary elections that should serve as a major step in the West African cocoa producer’s recovery from civil war.

Tuesday December 13

  • • South Africa’s Bureau of Economic Research releases fourth-quarter inflation expectations survey.

Wednesday December 14

  • • South Africa CPI for November. Consumer inflation hit 6 percent in October, the top end of the central bank’s target range. (0800 GMT)
  • • Ghana CPI for November. Consumer inflation hit 8.56 percent in October.
  • • KenGen AGM. Kenya’s main power producer may reveal more on the current state of system capacity.

Thursday December 15

  • • South Africa PPI for November. Producer prices rose 10.6 percent in October (0930 GMT)
  • • Nigeria CPI for November. Consumer inflation edged up to 10.5 percent in October.
  • • Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana expected to release inflation data for November. Zimbabwe inflation eased to 4.2 percent in October, Namibia’s quickened to 6.1 percent and Botswana’s rose to 8.8 percent.
