WHO: Africa Day high level event is jointly organized by African Union
Commission (AUC); African Development Bank (AfDB); United
Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA); NEPAD Planning and
Coordinating Agency (NPCA); in collaboration with East African Community (EAC); Government of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE);
and Republic of Sudan.
OBJECTIVE:
The main objective of the Africa Day is to provide a platform and opportunity to critically examine what the post-2015 climate change agreement could mean to Africa as a continent and to bring to the attention of the world, some of the measures Africa is taking as solutions to address climate change.
Participants: African Ministers of Environment and other climate related ministers; Members of Pan-African Parliament and African Parliament; Member of African Group of Negotiators on Climate Change (AGN); Researchers, Civil Society Groups; Partners; Media representatives as well as pan African Institutions supporting policies and programmes pertaining to climate change, environment and sustainable development.
