Journalist injured in Somalia

Puntland security forces injured VOA Somali services correspondent in autonomous Puntland, Somalia on Tuesday night, local journalist told Africanews on Wednesday.

The Police mistakably opened fire Mohamed Yasin Ishaq, VOA Somali services correspondent in Galka’yo town of Puntland, while he is driving his car in the west of town.

Police chief of Mudug Muse Ahmed, told local media that the journalist was not serious injured. “We are ware of his condition” Ahmed was stated.

Police suspected that Ishaq was doing against security because his car was running so fast, police chief told.

Mohamed Yasin Ishaq slept the hospital of Galka’yo while his doctors said his condition is getting better.

The semi-autonomous of puntland in northeastern Somalia has peacefully region since was build their own administration.

Somalia, war-torn and lawless country in Horn of Africa, has not had an effective government since warlords overthrew Dictator Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991.
